A wardrobe should provide sufficient storage while fitting naturally into the bedroom and the way you use your clothes every day. We therefore make every reclaimed wood wardrobe entirely to measure in our own workshop. You choose the width, height, depth, internal layout, doors, drawers, hanging rails, shelves and finish.
From a generous sliding-door wardrobe to fitted storage beneath a sloping ceiling or a design with open compartments, almost every configuration is possible. We tailor the wardrobe to the available space, required storage and the style of your bedroom.
Our reclaimed scaffold wood for indoor use is carefully planed and dried to approximately 12% moisture content. This preserves its characteristic appearance while greatly reducing natural movement. Oak wardrobes are also available on request.

RECLAIMED WOOD WARDROBES FOR EVERY BEDROOM
A reclaimed wood wardrobe combines practical storage with a warm and natural appearance. Visible grain, colour variations and authentic details make every wardrobe unique. At The Dutch Woodcraft Company, the design is tailored to your bedroom, wardrobe and daily routine.
Our indoor furniture is made from carefully selected reclaimed scaffold wood. The timber is planed and dried to approximately 12% moisture content, making it considerably more stable while preserving its distinctive character.
A made-to-measure wardrobe uses the available space far more efficiently than a standard cabinet. Width, height and depth can be adapted precisely to a wall, alcove or bedroom. Low ceilings, narrow access routes and unusual dimensions can be considered from the start.
The internal layout determines how practical the wardrobe is in everyday use. Hanging sections can be combined with shelves, drawers, shoe storage and open compartments. Long coats and dresses require a taller hanging area, while shirts and trousers can be stored efficiently on two levels.
A reclaimed wood wardrobe with sliding doors is ideal where there is limited space in front of the cabinet. Because the doors move sideways, no clearance is needed for outward-opening doors.
Sliding doors can be made entirely from reclaimed wood or combined with a black metal rail, different panel divisions and subtle handles. The result can be rustic and robust or clean and contemporary.
A fitted wardrobe beneath a sloping ceiling makes efficient use of attic rooms and bedrooms with angled walls. Lower sections can hold shelves, drawers or shoes, while the taller part provides space for hanging rails.
Accurate measurements are especially important for sloping ceilings. Photographs, a sketch and clear dimensions help us assess where the slope begins, how the wall runs and which areas must remain accessible.
A wardrobe with open compartments combines enclosed storage with a lighter visual appearance. The compartments can be used for baskets, books, accessories, perfume or decorative items.
Open sections are also practical for frequently used items such as bags, folded knitwear and jewellery. Their dimensions can be planned around the objects you actually want to store.
Drawers can be integrated alongside doors and shelves. They are suitable for underwear, socks and smaller garments and may be positioned behind doors or incorporated visibly into the front.
Colour and finish strongly influence the appearance of a reclaimed scaffold wood wardrobe. A natural finish keeps the timber light and authentic, while white wash, grey wash and darker tones create different styles.
A wardrobe without a back panel can be practical when fitted directly against a clean, even wall. A closed back creates a fully finished interior and may be preferable for freestanding furniture or uneven walls.
The choice between hinged and sliding doors also affects everyday use. Hinged doors offer a broad view of the contents, while sliding doors save space in front of the wardrobe.
A country-style reclaimed wood wardrobe can feature framed doors, visible timber details and warm finishes. A modern wardrobe may use calm fronts, straight lines, handleless details or black metal accents.
Reclaimed wood naturally contains knots, colour differences and a lively grain. These features belong to the material and ensure that no two wardrobes are exactly the same.
Although reclaimed wood is the main focus of this collection, we also make custom oak wardrobes. Oak has a calmer, refined grain and suits modern, natural and luxurious bedrooms.
A wardrobe can be coordinated with a bed, bedside table or desk in the same timber and finish. Repeating the same proportions and details creates a cohesive bedroom interior.
For large wardrobes, transport and assembly are considered during the design process. The furniture is constructed in sections that can be moved into the bedroom and assembled on site.
The Dutch Woodcraft Company is a family business with its own workshop and showroom in Neede, the Netherlands. We design, manufacture and deliver reclaimed wood wardrobes, reclaimed scaffold wood wardrobes and oak wardrobes throughout several European countries.
