During the economic crisis around 2010, construction work came to a standstill. To earn an income, scaffold planks were used to make garden furniture. This is where the term scaffolding wood comes from. It is therefore a misconception that scaffolding wood is a separate type of wood; it is spruce timber commonly used in construction.
At The Dutchwoodcraft Company, our furniture is made exclusively from sustainably sourced wood. We make sure that the wood we use is FSC / PEFC certified and strive to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible.
